A friend’s doctor rung them this morning to say “The country has run out of Sertraline.” Wow! Sertraline is the anti-depressant that anyone who’s not on Citalopram seems to be taking. (Although I’ve hardly met anyone not on Citalopram, but that’s another story). My friend has one week’s supply left which the doctor advises him to take alternate days till he runs out. If he feels okay, then way-hey he’s off anti-deps! If not, they will try him on Prozac. He’s taking it well but we will see. Sertraline is most commonly prescribed for high anxiety and I’m thinking the midst of a global pandemic is probably not when you’d choose to mess with your meds.
